Flo Landscapes is a construction landscaping company started three years ago to employ ‘unemployable youth’ by Street Peace’s Founder Jay Shelling. The landscaping company’s work is primarily with residential clients, designing and constructing new and renovated front and backyards.
Flo Landscapes has recently become registered as a social enterprise. Social enterprises are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment. The social enterprise has now launched into the commercial landscaping sector as SP Worx.
“We are excited to see our project scope grow with larger corporate organisations to provide more young workers employment and see them on the site mentored to become job ready,” explains Jay.
“Currently we have a growing list of young people asking us for jobs. We are having good conversations with corporate organisations and quoting on some upcoming projects.”
